AT HOME IN GREENLAND NEW HAMPSHIRE
- Greenland is a small town right next to Portsmouth and Stratham.  The total geographical size of Greenland is only 10.5 square miles, and the current population is about 3,400 residents.

Quaint and charming, Greenland was originally a parish of Portsmouth dating back to 1638.  Greenland came into its own in 1721, receiving "full town privileges" which meant being able to collect taxes from its residents, among other things.  Imagine, collecting taxes from residents....

Greenland NH, home mostly to quiet residential areas and some very small condo communities, has some very nice pastoral areas, and a little bit of commercial mixed in here and there.   Located between Route 1 on the eastern side and Great Bay on the western side, everything in the area is within a very short drive from Greenland.

All that Portsmouth has to offer is just 5-10 minutes away, the Atlantic Ocean and area beaches are within an easy 10 minute drive, Boston and Portland Maine are both just about 45 minutes away in opposite directions, a 3 minute drive to NH Community Technical College, and the University of NH in Durham is within a 15-20 minute drive....just an overall great location.

Greenland NH Weeks Public Library - Ann Cummings Copyright 2007

Weeks Public Library has all kinds of programs going on all year long for Greenland residents.  Some of their current programs are Story Hours for kids twice a week, Ladies Night Out, Book Discussion Groups, and more.  A number of town meetings are also held at this wonderful small-town public library as well.

Golf Clubs

Greenland is fortunate to be the home of 3 great golf courses ~~ Bramber Valley Golf Course, Portsmouth Country Club, and Breakfast Hill Golf Club.  For a small town, this is a golfer's heaven, that's for sure!  And just in case these 3 courses aren't enough, right next door in Stratham is The Golf Club of New England, Pease Golf Course in Portsmouth, and Sagamore-Hampton Golf Club in North Hampton will be waiting for all you golfers!
