Super Memorial Day Meme 2008Ever heard of a Meme? It's a fun way to learn a little more about people in the on-line world. Here's the latest Meme going around...Have you ever heard of a "meme"? If not, you're likely not alone, and if you have, well then you know the fun these can be to read. It's the internet's version of helping readers to get to know a little more about the person who was "memed", and this time around, thanks to Mariana Wagner of Colorado Springs Real Estate and Laurie Manny of Long Beach Real Estate, I was 'memed'. Dare I say 'thank you Mariana'and Laurie?!? ;-)
I am asking 8 questions because when tipped over the number 8 is the
infinity symbol and that is totally geeky and 8 is my favorite number and it is
2008. Oh, how the stars have aligned! OK - here are the eight questions, along with my answers: 1) Who is your favorite musical artist? (post a youtube video) Gosh, I have a wide and varied taste in music! I love Island and Reggae music, classical music is very soothing to me, I love the oldies - 60' and 70's, I love the music the Celtic Woman sing. I like Celine Dion, UB40, Cat Stevens, The Who, oh I could go on and on....but I won't! ;-) This is a video of the Celtic Woman, and one of my favorite songs they do - "Sail Away". They have the most exquisite voices - I could listen to them for hours.
2) Who is your favorite artist (post a flicker photo) My favorite artist is Thomas Kinkade, before all the commercial trinkety stuff. I have several of his oil paintings, and I just love them - they change with the light of the day. I also love Wallace Nutting hand-tinted prints, and some of his apprentices - Davidson, Sawyer, Thompson. 3. Who is your favorite blogger? This is a tough one for me, as I now read so many. I love reading RSS Pieces - Mary McKnight's blog because I continually learn from her writings. I absolutely LOVE reading Miamism! Ines writes with such a great sense of humor and you can find all kinds of fun stuff mixed in with terrific real estate information. If you haven't read Miamism, go check it out! Mixed Media Marketing has some really cool blogging material in his posts - love the tips he shares. 4. If you could meet anyone (alive or dead), who would it be and what is the most interesting thing about them? I think it would be fun to meet Diane Sawyer. I think she has about the coolest job going, and she seems like she'd really be quite down-to-earth. 5. What did you want to be when you grew up? When I was really young, in elementary school, I wanted to be a teacher. Not to teach mind you, but because the teachers in my school always got extra rolls and bigger desserts at lunchtime. Yep, that's the real truth. My mom used to think that was the funniest thing. After I got over that, I used to want to own my own clothing store. My grandmother owned a beautiful clothing store and every time we'd go visit her in Florida, I couldn't wait to go to her store and work. 6. What is the most interesting piece of trivia you know? -- The date New Hampshire's beloved Old Man in the Mountains
slid away - May 3, 2003. 7. If you could live in any point in history what would it be and why? I kinda like the here and now - much better time for women, so much change going on and it's all history in the making. And I get to do what I do for a living - women weren't always able to be as self-sufficient as we are now and able to make our own way in the world. It's scary at times, but what fun it can be, too! 8. What is the most interesting job you have ever held? I've only had a few jobs in my life so far, and the best and most interesting is the one I have now - real estate broker. I LOVE what I do, no two days are the same, no two sales are the same, and I get to help people all the time. Sure, we feel the heat at times, but for the most part, selling real estate is an awesome job! The stories all of us in real estate could tell...... we could write all kinds of books on our daily experiences. Human behavior is quite entertaining, for sure!

The Old Man reminds me of the Reclining Lady we have on our mountain top. Problem is you can only see her if you are boating. She won't be sliding anywhere unless we have a massive earthquake. Much more famous, at least to us on the west coast, are the Three Lions. Of course, everything in the city is named after them including the suspension bridge that allows passage to that side of the inlet.
