Portsmouth NH Real Estate - New Hampshire's Old Man of the Mountains

New Hampshire dearly misses our beloved stone ˜Old Man of the Mountains. Yesterday marked the 5 year anniversary since he slid off the mountain

New Hampshires Beloved Old Man of the Mountains

NH Old Man of the Mountains

Each Sunday, I usually do my ˜Seacoast Sunday Scenes post, but today, I wanted to pay tribute to New Hampshires beloved state logo - our ˜Old Man of the Mountains.

Five years ago yesterday, May 3rd, the rock formations that created the ˜Old Man of the Mountains profile slid into history and fell at the basin of Cannon mountain.  Sometime between midnight and about 2-3am on the morning of May 3, 2003, he slid down the slopes, and when the fog lifted that morning, he was really gone.

It may seem trivial to some, but for those who make New Hampshire their home or who came to love our ˜Old Man in the Mountains on their visits to NH, this came as a total shock to those who cherished him.  Many remember just where they were when the got the news that wed lost our Old Man, just as they do when JFK was shot or Martin Luther King was shot, or when the terrible events of 9-11-2001 took place.  Obviously this was nowhere near as tragic as those events, but momentous to New Hampshire lovers all the same.

Portsmouth NH Real Estate - New Hampshire Home Mortgage Workshop

Homeowners of New Hampshire - Come attend a FREE Home Mortgage Workshop and get your questions and concerns about today’s mortgage environment answered!

New Hampshire Home Mortgage Workshop

Homeowners of New Hampshire
- There will be a New Hampshire Home Mortgage Workshop held in Manchester this coming Saturday, Mary 8th, from 9am to noon.  This workshop will be held at the Carol Rines Center, located at 1528 Elm Street, Manchester NH.

In an effort to help New Hampshire residents through the current home mortgage environment, US Senator John Sununu and Manchester Mayor Frank Guinta are inviting all interested parties to attend this workshop.

Those attending this workshop will be provided information regarding programs and resources available to New Hampshire residents that have been developed in response to today's home mortgage market and the economic concerns that many have today.  There will be housing counselors on hand to address specific concerns or questions NH homeowners may have, and they will be ready to work with you to help determine the best course of action for your individual situation.

This workshop is open to all who want to attend, and there is no charge to attend.

We all have concerns and questions about the mortgage industry situation, and how it impacts each of us.  This free workshop is a terrific opportunity to get some first hand information, as well as an opportunity to get some direct specific information and assistance if you need it.

New Hampshire Primary Results - The "Comeback State"

It’s Wednesday morning, the morning after the New Hampshire

NH Live Free or Die
It's Wednesday morning, the morning after the New Hampshire "First in the Nation Primary" - I am GLAD that's over!  Being a registered Independent in the state of NH isn't a lot of fun, at least not for me.

NH, with a little over a million residents, had a record turnout yesterday for the primary elections.  We had over 500,000 voters show up at the polls to cast their vote for the person they think should be the next US President.

Some of the polling places ran out of ballots, there was such a high turnout, and some others ran low.  Some polling places stayed open later than publicized hours because the lines were so long.

The concession speeches last night were gracious and the victory speeches were dynamic and energetic.  And now all the candidates have moved on to the next states on the primary and caucus schedules.

The results from New Hampshire's Primary, with a few locations still left to report in as of 6:30am, are:

          McCain       38%                     Clinton       40%
          Romney      32%                     Obama       37%
          Huckabee   11%                     Edwards    17%
          Giuliani        9%                      Richards      5%
          Paul             8%                      Kucinich      1%
          Thompson   1%

New Hampshire has been called the "Comeback State" in the past, and once again, we've proven to be very independent in our thinking and have given both John McCain and Hillary Clinton comeback victories in our state primary.

When the primaries are in your state, make sure to exercise your right and privilege, and get out there and vote!
