Portsmouth NH Homes and Condos - Seacoast Sunday Scenes - Historic Strawbery Banke Museum

Living here in Portsmouth NH, we are surrounded by history - historic homes, parks, and a fabulous outdoor living museum - Strawbery Banke Museum.

Portsmouth NH Strawbery Banke Museum
Living here in Portsmouth New Hampshire, we are surrounded by history. We have homes and buildings here that date back to the 1600s, and many of them are still being lived in. No doubt, changes have been made numerous times inside!

We also happen to have an outdoor history museum here that features 375 years of lfe here in Portsmouth. Strawbery Banke Museum traces the history of this area of Portsmouth NH, and is said to be the oldest continuously occupied areas of the country. This beautiful outdoor museum covers 10 acres right in the heart of the city, and is across the street from the banks of the Piscataqua River.

Here are some pictures of the historic homes that have been restored, or are in the process of being restored. Those that have been restored are open to the public. Gardens are tucked here and there, and those replicate the gardens of the past for these homes - cooking gardens, herb gardens, Victorian flower gardens, and more.

Enjoy these pictures!

Hi Ines - these old historic homes are a true labor of love, and it does take an enormous amount of work to get some of these restored that are part of this museum.  We have a lot of historic antique homes around town that have been beautifully restored and are being lived in, many dating back to the 1600’s and 1700’s.
