Portsmouth NH Real Estate - Seacoast Sunday Scenes - New Castle NH

Take a picture tour of New Hampshire's smallest town - the Island of New Castle NH!

I like to do fun posts on Sundays showcasing the Seacoast areas of New Hampshire and southern Maine, when I have a chance to.  This Sunday I thought I'd show you some pictures from around the little island of New Castle New Hampshire.

New Castle NH - The Great Island - Ann Cummings Copyright 2007

New Castle NH
is a wonderful little island fulll of narrow winding streets, fabulous antique homes with some new and newer homes mixed in, home to the famous Wentworth-by-the-Sea Hotel, New Castle Common State Park and Beach, and loads of water views almost everwhere you look.

New Castle is the next town over from Portsmouth NH, and was settled in 1693.  There are still a number of antique homes from the 1600's still being lived in on New Castle.  Talk about a little place just full of history!  And it's the smallest town in New Hampshire!

Ft. Constituition - New Castle NH - Ann Cummings Copyright 2007

New Castle NH
is also home to Fort William and Mary, which played an important role in the American Revolution.  The raid of Fort William and Mary by the British is what set off Paul Revere's famous ride to Portsmouth to warn of the British coming.  Fort Constituition is the name Ft. William and Mary is now known as.

Super Memorial Day Meme 2008

Ever heard of a Meme? It's a fun way to learn a little more about people in the on-line world. Here's the latest Meme going around...

Have you ever heard of a "meme"? If not, you're likely not alone, and if you have, well then you know the fun these can be to read. It's the internet's version of helping readers to get to know a little more about the person who was "memed", and this time around, thanks to Mariana Wagner of Colorado Springs Real Estate and Laurie Manny of Long Beach Real Estate, I was 'memed'. Dare I say 'thank you Mariana'and Laurie?!? ;-)

There are two me-s in meme because it's all about me. Meme's are the perfect way to let other bloggers know about you, let your audience know about you and get to know and relate to other bloggers, expand your network and watch your sphere of influence expand outwards. If you ever posed the question to yourself, "how many degrees are between me and Kevin Bacon?" this is the way to find out.

I am asking 8 questions because when tipped over the number 8 is the infinity symbol and that is totally geeky and 8 is my favorite number and it is 2008. Oh, how the stars have aligned!

OK - here are the eight questions, along with my answers:

1) Who is your favorite musical artist? (post a youtube video)

Gosh, I have a wide and varied taste in music! I love Island and Reggae music, classical music is very soothing to me, I love the oldies - 60' and 70's, I love the music the Celtic Woman sing. I like Celine Dion, UB40, Cat Stevens, The Who, oh I could go on and on....but I won't! ;-)

This is a video of the Celtic Woman, and one of my favorite songs they do - "Sail Away". They have the most exquisite voices - I could listen to them for hours.

Prescott Park - Portsmouth NH Waterfront

Living here in Portsmouth NH is just wonderful!  We live along the beautiful 17 mile coast of the Atlantic Oceen, we have bodies of water all around us, our great highways can get us into Boston or Portland Maine in under an hour, the mountains are a quick drive away, and we have all kinds of things to do right here in the "Port City" of Portsmouth!

One of the things that the local residents and visitors alike love is our park along the waterfront - Prescott Park.  The flowers and plants here are simply beyond description, and must be seen in person to fully appreciate just how beautiful they are.  What a gorgeous place to while away the time with friends and family, or simply for some time by yourself among wonderful surroundings.
