Rye New Hampshire - Historic Bridge For Sale!

Rye NH Seavey Creek Bridge - Ann Cummings Copyright 2008
Yep, you read that correctly - we do, in fact, have a bridge for sale right here in Rye New Hampshire.  And it's also one that's eligible for being listed in the National Register of Historic Places due to the significance of its engineering.

Why is this historic bridge being offered up for auction?  Federal law stipulates that all historic bridges must be offered to the public before any demolition can take place.

Where is this bridge for sale?  If you know where Odiorne Point State Park is on the Atlantic Ocean in Rye NH, you're almost right on it.  Look for the Odiorne Point boat launch, and it's right there.

Portsmouth NH Homes - The Art of Living in Small Spaces

Are you toying with the idea of scaling down? Living in small spaces is the perfect fit for many people. Here are some great tips for making the most of your small space:

The Art of Living in a Small Space in Portsmouth New Hampshire

Need to use every cubic inch?

Tired of taking care of a large home?

Down Sizing?

Buying a home in Long Beach California means paying a higher price and living in smaller spaces; this is also true in the Seacoast areas of Maine and New Hampshire when buying a home or condo in Portsmouth.  Baby boomers are entering their senior years and are searching for smaller spaces to care for and single story homes.  They are seeking smaller but elegant spaces.  Living in a smaller space has its challenges but that doesn't necessarily mean that ones style of living needs to change.

Living in a small space certainly has its challenges and rewards.  A small mess in a large home is a huge mess in small space.  One needs to be a neat freak in small spaces.

Counter tops need to be kept clear since space is at a minimum; attach those appliances to the underside of your cabinets.  Don't underestimate the amount of storage you need. An entire wall of closets, cabinets and drawers can go a long way.

Summer's here in Portsmouth NH, and that means being mindful of our pets in the summer sun and heat. Here are some helpful tips for dog owners:

Summer Safety Tips for Dogs (and their owners!)

Summer is here in Portsmouth NH, and so are the warmer days.  Warmer days are great for humans, but can be a stressful time for our fur-covered friends.  In fact, it has been said that winter is a dog's summer.

As a homeowner in Portsmouth NH, there are some things you should remember for your dog at home this summer:

  • Make sure your dog has plenty of fresh, cool water to drink at any point in the day.
  • If your dog is out in the yard for most of the day, be sure to provide lots of shade from the sun, shelter from any sudden storms and a couple sources of water (in case one bowl gets knocked over.Save your daily walks for early in the morning or later in the evening. Dogs do not need to romping around in the mid-day heat.
