When North Hampton was first settled, the population was 657, and today there are around 5,000 residents.

North Hampton is home to Sagamore Hampton Golf Course, a public golf course open to all who want to enjoy their scenic course. Sagamore Hampton is an 18 hole par 71 course, located just a mile from the center of town. There's plenty of great golfing the area, all within minutes of North Hampton, too. There are 2 18-holes courses in neighboring Rye, both private - Abenaqui Country Club and Wentworth-by-the-Sea. Greenland offers 3 courses, 2 are 18 holes courses - Breakfast Hill Golf Club and Portsmouth Country Club - and one 9-hole course at Bramber Valley Golf. All 3 Greenland clubs are public. Nearby Portsmouth is home to Pease Golf Course, another 18-hole course. In addition to these courses, there are a number of other courses all within just a short drive of North Hampton and the Seacoast areas. We're a real golfer's delight here, that's for sure!! Homes in North Hampton vary from small summer cottages to beautiful huge antique homes and estates. In the 19th century, North Hampton was a very fashionable summer seaside resort. North Hampton is just minutes from Portsmouth and all it has to offer - shopping, dining, theater, music, and much more. Just a quick 40 minute drive into Boston, and less than an hour from Portland, Maine. If you're into snow skiing - all kinds of great winter sports are about an hour or so away.
