Settled in 1639, North Hampton was originally part of Hampton NH, becoming its own township in 1719. When North Hampton was first settled, the population was 657, and today there are around 5,000 residents.

Fuller Gardens offers beautiful Japanese gardens and formal rose gardens. At Centennial Hall, you can take classes for music, art, dance, and even tai chi. And all around North Hampton are endless ways to enjoy the great outdoors—hiking, biking, fishing and hunting, even snowmobiling.

Students in North Hampton attend North Hampton Elementary School for grades K–8, and then attend Winnacunnet High School in Hampton for grades 9–12. North Hampton Elementary is one of the few elementary schools in the area that offers kindergarten, which residents with young children just love.
North Hampton may feel like a secluded retreat, but it’s really just minutes from the shopping, dining, theatre, music, and endless entertainment of Portsmouth. Plus, it’s just 40 minutes to Boston and an hour from Portland, ME. Like to ski? Find a plethora of winter activities within an hour of North Hampton. You’ve got to love that location!
